Jonathan from Ireland holds both the one lap and the 2 lap records. He recorded times in days before Katrina and I took over the time keeping and well before the new surface was laid down. In those days we used to cut straight through the car parks in each of the long stretches so the course may have been a few metres shorter.
Emma Phillips. Open Female 1 lap
12:12 10th Janaury 2009 Open Female 2 laps 25:28 13th December 2008
New on the scene in 2008, it was only a matter of time before Emma broke the female Predictor Record. In perfect conditions on a late Novemebr evening she smashed the one lap record which had been set by Petra in 2005. Emma had already won every race she had entered in the UAE. Here she is seen winning the ABRaS 10 km race in October in those distinctive long black socks. On the nigth of the Predictor Pursuit race she made the most of the competitive conditions to add the 2 lap record to her list of acheivements. In Janaury 2009 she lowered the one lap record still further.

2 Laps 23:35 31st December 2005
New on the Scene from England, in September 2004, Nick Berrill along with wife Anna have proved to be great assets to running in Dubai. Nick comes with a formidable reputation and has a world class time for a marathon. Wife Anna is also a great runner with a pb of well under 40 minutes for 10km. With a pedigree like that it can’t be long before we are seeing young Samuel Berrill lapping Safa Park.
Paul Holley
Male 40+ 2 laps Paul Holley 23:35
21st February 2009
Paul has two main interests, horse racing and running. Whilst out in Dubai for the winter season on the horse racing track he equalled the male 40+ record for two laps around Safa Park. Unfortunately I didn't have the records to hand on the night and hence could not confirm it at the time. The picture shows Paul in a Cross country race in the UK.
Tracey Watson

It was quite a weekend for the ever popular Tracey. On the Friday she was 1st female 40+ in a 10 km race and on the Saturday she followed it up by equaling the long standing female 40+ record for 2 laps of Safa Park. Tracey was on great form having been part of the Dubai Creek Striders winning female team in the Dubai Marathon just 2 weeks earlier, beating every other team with the exception of the DCS male team.

She comes to Dubai with one of the most formidable records of any athlete we have seen. She may not be in Dubai for long so lets make the most of the experience she brings to the club.
Annette Lambe Female 55+ one lap 16:42 20th March 2010
It is always great to see a runner who has been with is for several years still improving. Annette had been concentrating hard on her distance training since completing her first marathon in April 2009. It paid off with her speed work too as she broke 17 minutes for a lap of Safa Park for the first time. Annette is one of a growing number of girls finding pleasure in their running in the female 50+ group.
Female 60+ 1 lap and 2 laps
Anna Griffin.
1 lap 16:45 25th December 1999
2 Laps 33:49 18th December 1999
Anna, from the UK and now living in France was a stunning runner (and possibly still is). When she set the 2 records in December 1999, she was already 60 years old. Her husband Peter was also a good athlete claiming to have held the English record for 100 yards in the 1950s and used to play 1st class rugby for Swansea.
This was the only picture I could find of Anna, taken New Years Day 2000. Anyone recognize the girl on the left?
Ian Gordon

16th January 2010
Male 60+ 2 laps
29:19
6th February 2010
Ian took up running in 2000 shortly after his daughter Laura had joined DRR. From an absolute beginer he improved rapidly and was soon dominating the 50+ age group. By 2005 others had caught up and although still a great runner for his age Ian was being edged out by younger runners entering the age group. In December 2009 he turned 60 and soon got himself back into the record books as a 60+ runner.
Colin Curcher
Male 60+ 1 lap
Colin Curcher.
16:11 20th April 2002
Also worthy of a mention, another frequent visitor to Dubai, Colin from the UK is father of DRR committee member Mark Curcher. Colin was placed 2nd in the DRR 10km race 55+ category in 2004. Colin’s achievement is all the more remarkable because he suffers from Leukemia and can only run for a couple of months at a time between treatments.

Kieran Gibson
11:43
28th February 2009
After chasing the record since September 2008, Kieran finally took the long standing Junior record on a perfect February evening. Kieran becomes the first Australian runner to hit the roll of Honour. Much of his acheivement is down to keen competition from a number of great junior boys.
Jenny Adamson and Jenny Tave
Junior Female Under 16 1 lap
Jennie Tave
12:58 18th March 2006
On a fantastic night on the pursuit race both under 18 records were broken. Jennie Tave clipped just 2 seconds off Jenny Adamsons record set in November 2005. Jennie had been working hard for this one. In January she reduced the record.twice more, yet again in February and in March she became the first under 16 year old girl to break 13 minutes.
This rivally hopefully will go on and this is one picture I am leaving on as a tribute to 2 great girls.
Ryan Harris
Junior Boys Under 14
Ryan Harris
11:57
3rd March 2007
Niels Larsen's reign at the top for the junior male under 16 last only 3 months. Along came Ryan Harris and in almost perfect conditions the 2 juniors ran round Safa Park together. Niel's beat his existing record, but 12 year old Ryan went even better breaking 12 minutes. Well done to both lads.

Robbie Williams
12:39 18th January 2003
From the UK Robbie is the son of James Williams a professional golfer and a former county champion at running. His mother is a gymnast. Robbie was recording some unbelievable times on the predictor and would finish hardly out of breath. He is now an apprentice at Wolverhampton Wanderers football club in the UK.
Rhianne Williams
Junior Female Under 12 1 lap
Rhianne Williams
14:52 2nd December 2006
This had been one of the longest standing records on the books. On the wettest evening I can ever recall on the Predictor we were wondering if anyone would turn up at all. There were just 4 juniors and 2 of them set records. Rhianne became the first junior girls under 12 to break 15 minutes for a lap of Safa Park. A really great run.
Max Powell
Junior Male Under 9 Max Powell February 6th 2010 14:14
On a perfect night on which 3 records were broken 7 year old Max Powell smashed junior under nine record with a stunning time of 14:14. Max comes from a remarkable running family, Mum Debbie had finished 3rd in the Dubai marathon 10 km only 2 weeks previous and dad Nick has run 2 marathons.?
